Young-Gi a series of narratives ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i've always been a kid tryna find where i belong standing there in front of the class he watched as the 23 other children looked up at him. the wrinkled up and bent index cards were gripped tightly in his hands as he looked down at them. it was november 9th. Young-Gi breathed heavily as he managed to get through his report on George Washington but now it was time to answer the teachers questions in front of the class. the answers were right there. right there on those index cards, mrs. sal tapped on them softly with a smile as she even pointed out the question she was asking. he could feel the desperate burn behind his eyes as he struggled looking at the card. his mother had written them for him in her beautiful print, but he had no idea what anything said. he tried to go over the alphabet for each letter in the first word. but he couldn't. he looked up again at his peers as they started to whisper and giggle while they watched. he was frozen in horror. when the moons just right, just me and you the heatwave was getting intense the past few days. people were irritable. some even irrational, but that was always for him. glancing over his shoulder the smell of sex was still in the air, but he paid it no mind. the figure laying there tangled in the sheets was sound asleep already. he looked back to the floor as he quietly lifted his jeans and slid one leg in after the other, a quick glance when he stood up and there was a jingle from his belt. there was no need to wake them up, no need to try and make this something it would never be. shaking his head some he slipped on his sneaks and then grabbed his shirt. he just wasn't the type of guy to really get involved. not with....not like this. he couldn't right now. he didn't even bother with a final glance as he slipped out the front door and made his way home. 2am wouldn't last forever. girls, girls, girls looking down at her he had no clue what to do. the pouty face was terrible. why was she making that face? disgruntled and unsure of himself he ran through his phone before hitting a song that he had no right even having on his phone. he could blame the shuffle recommendations for that though. once the song came on he worked. he worked harder than he had ever worked a single day in his entire life. popping. locking. hip swinging. arms moving. his cheeks hurt from smiling so big as he bobbed his head from one to side to the other and made cute bunny ears on top of his head. singing along with what he did know about the song, unfortunately his voice didn't get that high pitched. he kept going through, it felt like an eternity but really it was less than four minutes and he looked down as she clapped. victory! the giggles as the chubby little toddler tipped over and died laughing. her daddy was new to her, but he was silly. i was a fool to love you, yea we could have had it all looking down at the pictures in the beat up shoebox, he had no idea why he'd even brought it out from storage. He'd been looking for something else entirely. his finger and thumb worried over his bottom lip as he tossed the polaroid's down and looked at another one. she was gorgeous, still was too of course but that didn't cover up the ugly that she had grown into either. his chest ached still, remembering how they had so many big plans for their life. they'd even wanted a kid, kids actually and it was gonna be alright. he was trying. he did his best, but it wasn't enough. shoving the box aside he hated that it still hurt, it had been over six years since they'd been together. they were stuck with each other for life now though, he couldn't ever leave beibei. she was the only one that got his heart now. first we gonna rock, then we gonna roll His head nodded to the music as he lay beneath the car and popped the line once the bin was in place and rolled out while it drained. his words didn't quite meet up with the rappers but he was also mixing english and korean as he sang along. the music blared loud and it was a pretty decent day in the shop. at least until the music suddenly stopped. he turned around ready to put someone on blast for touching his phone. it was one of the women though and he instantly bowed his head down in disgrace for the song being heard by her ears. she looked at him for a moment and walked over closer to him, the other two appeared and he swore no one was around less than five minutes ago. these old ladies were like ninjas! geriatric ninja assassins. she gripped young-gi's shoulder and her other hand pinched his cheek hard enough to give him the non-verbal warning before she walked by, patting his backside as well. he jumped forward at that one, trying to get away and quickly evading the other two women before they got their pinchers out. he had work to do! dayum! |
